Saturday, June 18, 2016 to Sunday, June 19, 2016
One of the first large classic car shows this year will be taking place over the weekend of June 18-19. The Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show will once again we welcoming thousands of enthusiasts for its annual, early-summer running at Somerset’s Royal Bath & West showground near Shepton Mallett.
Hundreds of traders housed in the venue’s halls will be offering a range of four-wheel related bargains including parts, spares, tools, accessories and memorabilia. There will also be a range of superb displays from the country’s top car clubs including the Daimler and Lanchester Owners Club (DLOC).
The Jaguar Heritage Trust is proud to be supporting the DLOC with a rare veteran car - the 1901 Lanchester 12hp tonneau. This unique vehicle is a fascinating example of early automotive engineering with a horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine and 3-speed epicyclic gearbox. With all forward and backward motion controlled by two levers and with tiller steering, it is a challenging car to drive! The Lanchester will be joining an 1897 Daimler Wagonette on the DLOC stand and it also hoped to obtain an early BSA model to complete the historic line-up.
